Cicero, Dolton, Harvey hold Mayor, Trustee primaries
Cook County Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough reminds voters that Tuesday is Election Day in three suburban Cook County municipalities – Cicero, Dolton and Harvey. These towns are the only suburban Cook County jurisdictions with primary elections on Tuesday.
There are 63,032 registered voters eligible to vote in this election. Residents who are unsure if they are able to vote can use the Your Voter Information tool on the Clerk’s website to check a sample ballot and find their polling place. Any voters not registered to vote by Election Day may register and vote at their home precinct only, via Election Day Registration. In order to register and vote on Election Day voters must bring two pieces of identification, one with a current address, to the polling place. Polls are open tomorrow from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Through Sunday, Feb. 24, a total of 2,827 voters cast their ballots for this election during Early Voting, which runs from Feb. 11 – 25. An additional 242 mail ballots have been returned to the Clerk’s office. Nursing home voting took place for residents at five nursing homes in these municipalities on Friday, and 106 nursing home residents voted at that time.

Trustee. Four candidates vying for two spots.
City of Harvey:
Mayor. Seven candidates vying for one spot (Top two candidates move on to Consolidated Election.)
Alderman, Ward 2. Four candidates vying for one spot.
Alderman, Ward 5. Eight candidates vying for one spot.
Voters in Dolton will also be voting on three village referenda.
Voters in a total of 68 suburban Cook County precincts are eligible to vote in Tuesday’s primary. The 2015 Consolidated Primary had two contests in 36 precincts over two municipalities. Combined turnout in 2015 was 13 percent, or just over 4,000 voters. The 2011 Consolidated Primary, with two contests and 48 precincts, had 10 percent turnout, or about 3,000 total voters.
The suburban Consolidated Election will be held on Tuesday, April 2.

Media Credentials: Members of the media will not need a paper credential provided by the Clerk’s office. However, election judges will require news reporters, photographers and TV crews to show a government-issued or company identification card. Please remember that interviews cannot be conducted inside the polling place.
