Why i Serve Campaign

I serve on Election Day because ____________

“I’m the face of democracy”  -  “I love my election day team”  -  “Citizenship begins here”

The Cook County Clerk’s office has thousands of civic minded community members serving in suburban polling places each Election Day. They come from every community and they all come to serve.  They serve because their parents served before them, because their fellow election judges have become their friends, because they want to provide language assistance, or because they want to save for college. They serve because they know that without their commitment, voters wouldn’t be able to cast their ballots.

If you are a poll worker with our office please share a photo and message on social media about why you serve on Election Day.  Link to this page and use the hashtag #whyiserve and we will highlight your good work.

If you have never served we hope that you will join our Election Day team on November 8th.  You can learn more about the two positions available and apply online here. Bilingual judges are always needed and there are also positions available for college and high school students.
