To any voters who have requested Mail Ballots,
The Illinois Secretary of State recently sent a letter to registered voters that may be causing confusion for those who have already requested mail ballots from the Cook County Clerk's Office. This letter stated that the voter had not yet applied for a mail ballot, but that is inaccurate information for those individuals who have, in fact, requested a mail ballot from the Cook County Clerk.
If you have requested a mail ballot from the Cook County Clerk, there is no need for further action on your part. Our office is currently processing these applications and will begin mailing ballots to voters beginning September 24.
To check on the status of your mail ballot, please visit www.cookcountyclerk.com/VoterInfo and click the “What Is My Mail Ballot Status” tab.
To apply for a mail ballot use our online mail ballot application at: www.cookcountyclerk.com/VoteByMail.
For those voters who opt not to vote by mail, in person Grace Period Registration and Voting as well as Early Voting will begin October 7 at all suburban Cook County courthouses and at the Cook County Administration Building in Chicago.
On October 19, both programs will be expanded and available at more than 50 locations across suburban Cook County.
