The top spot on the ballot in the November 8, 2022, Gubernatorial Election in Cook County will go to Democratic Party candidates, the result of an Established Party Lottery conducted Wednesday by the Cook County Clerk’s Office.

Officials from the Clerk’s Elections Unit held a public ballot drawing that included entries for the Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican parties to determine ballot order for countywide races.

As a result of the drawing, Democratic candidates will be first on the ballot in suburban Cook County, as well as on all Chicago ballots. Republican candidates will occupy the second spot while Libertarian candidates will be third on the ballot in any applicable races.

A ballot lottery is conducted prior to each election to determine the order in which the established political parties will appear on the ballot.

A recording of Wednesday’s drawing can be viewed on the Cook County Clerk’s YouTube page.
