Cook County Clerk Certifies April 6 Consolidated Election Results

The Cook County Clerk’s Office has certified the results of the April 6 Consolidated Election with the Illinois State Board of Elections and official results for suburban Cook County races are available online, Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough announced today.  

“With so many candidates running in so many overlapping townships and communities, this is an extremely complex election to administer.  We are proud to complete and certify these results and I thank our entire Elections Team for their dedicated work,” said Yarbrough.   
 
While overall voter turnout increased just slightly over the last Consolidated Election in 2019, both Mail Voting and Early Voting reached record levels this year with 55,196 suburban residents casting their vote by mail and 74,311 voting early.  More than 2,500 candidates ran in a total of 1,025 races in the April 6 contests.

  • 2021: 55,196 (167% increase from previous high)

  • 2021: 74,311 (15% increase from previous high)
